Europe vaction

BoranoI missed quite a few of my blog additions. Here are a few images of the two week vacation in Bavaria and northern Italy. We started in Chiemsee , which served as our home base. Ubersee is within 30 minutes of Salzburg so we spent a few days in Salzburg and the Bavarian Alps around Berchesgarten and a few days down to Garmisch region and the Ludwig castles. We then traveled down to Venice for three days. We swung through the medieval town of Hall and onto Innsbruck, Austria. Insbruck was great, we stayed in a 500 year old hotel and celebrated Chloe’s 10th birthday the next morning. After Insbruck we headed out in the Opel to Venice traveling through the Brenner pass that cuts through the mighty Bavarian Alps. Went straight down to Venice with one stop to a great medieval walled city of  Soave. It was really cool and great place to stop. Down in Venice we had a great time. Well, we had a great time until Ella and I slid and fell into the canal on the Island of Burano. Once Ella touched the the step she immediately slid in. I went to pull her out and I immediately slipped in – all the way, head well under the water. The damage was two iphones and one camera containing all the pictures to date. All in all we had a great time and the pictures were saved. The drive back was great with a final stop in Salzburg and the Augustiner brau again.

Back in Ubersee, with a new camera, We made a last trip down to Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau castles. The girls loved Neuschwanstein and the tour was very well done. We spent our last two days in Munich. The weather was not the best for the last two days but we made the best if it. Capped our final night at Hofbrauhaus. Great time and great beer. Drank with the locals and meet some great people.

It was a great trip but we are all happy to be home and looking forward our next vacation. Here some shots of the trip.

Great photos! I think we’ll need to use some of these for Crouchtoberfest in 2010!
