I bought a new GoPro HD video cam at the Outdoor Retailer show a few weeks ago.

Erica and I took it to the streets last weekend. We ended up with some pretty sweet footage and a nice photo.

Amidst all of the stand up paddleboards, five-toe/low-profile active footwear, scads of water bottles, minimalist backpacking gear and cool new apparel, I found my favorite piece of free swag  – a sticker from “Leave No Trace.” I should have guessed the sasquatch was a steward of the outdoors.

Save a life. Motorcycles are everywhere.” Nine days each year in Laconia, New Hampshire, the last line of that bumper sticker is more than just hyperbole.

2010 brings us to the 87th year of Laconia Motorcycle Week. More than 400,000 people visit Laconia each year and it’s a pretty crazy event. It’s not as crazy as Sturgis or Daytona, but it is in New England.

If you notice a bunch of motorcycles on the road around June 12 through 20, now you know why. I’ll be looking twice, but I’m usually checking out the bikes.
