The Recon® V is a lightweight and rugged thermal binocular with laser pointing and enhanced range finding capabilities.  Tool designed a variety of concepts for the outer housing.  Requirements included ease of use for gloved hands, rugged enough for in-field use, and it had to look cool.  The later request comes up more often than not in the variety of military oriented products in which we have contributed.  We created mood boards, sketch concepts, CAD modeling, and clay-based form iteration in our partnership with FLIR.
